Beautiful, 7 inch German figurine of George Washington, circa 1820-30, numbered "55" incised, & "908+period".. And artist number painted tiny..
VErY early mark, with crown N+period. The period after numbers is a very old grammar thing. Sitzendorf & Frankenthal did this blank. Heavy gold is intact, very nice ground painted, he stands against a pillar holding feathered hat and a baton of sorts.Silk sash holds what looks like a sword pommel, wearing a cape and on his clothing several medals... Hair is painted the old way striped finely, pretty face. The period written after maker & model number is very old, pre 1870 custom of German & english grammar.
